OHM Fitness will open 35 EMS fitness studios in New Jersey and Washington D.C. through its newest franchise partners over the next few years.
Jake & Alyssa Kapneck have secured the Area Representative rights to the high-growth electro-muscle stimulation fitness concept, with the ability to open up 30 locations in New Jersey and five locations in the district. They also have locked down the first rights to bring the concept to Maryland once the new franchise is officially registered in that state.
OHM Fitness offers a high-tech, high-energy EMS fitness experience that packs the benefits of an intense two-hour workout into a low-impact, 25-minute session. The first studio opened in the company’s headquarters of Scottsdale, Ariz. in June and since then, the company has already sold the rights to five territories including 121 total franchise licenses. Territories currently in development include Arizona (entire state), San Diego, South Florida, New Jersey and Washington D.C.
The Kapnecks have extensive experience in franchising. The married New Jersey natives owned and operated a number of European Wax Center franchises in Maryland, operating a total of eight locations until they sold the business in August 2022. OHM Fitness immediately caught their attention, and they flew to Scottsdale to experience the studio and meet with the founding team.
“OHM Fitness is going to change the way people in the U.S. workout. It’s all about efficiency and using technology to get better results in less time; we use tech to make every other part of our lives more efficient, now it’s time for fitness to catch up,” said Jake Kapneck. “I was sold on the concept before my first class was over. I’m confident this is going to take off in a big way in New Jersey and Washington D.C.”
The duo is starting the search for their first location in both markets, looking for ideal retail locations with around 2,000 square feet.
At OHM Fitness, guests are immersed in a high-tech fitness experience with every visit. The EMPower Suit has the ability to produce impressive results with a desirably low rate of wear and tear on the joints, ligaments, and muscles. While the body’s central nervous system can only send frequency impulses that control up to 50% of your muscle fibers during an exercise, the EMS technology within the wireless EMPower Suit activates 95% of the muscle and is able to send impulses to muscle fibers up to one hundred times faster, causing muscles to feel fatigued faster than a traditional weight training exercise.
“We are able to deliver better results than a person can achieve from spending two or three hours in the gym in one 25-minute class, three times per week. OHM Fitness is completely different from any other fitness concept in the U.S. today,” said Founder & CEO Doug Payne. “This technology has been popular in Europe for decades, and others have tried similar concepts in the U.S. but no one has found the right delivery and format. We have nailed it and our members’ results are mind-blowing.”
This low-impact workout has been connected to researched-based benefits such as fat loss, skin health, energy, stress and anxiety levels, muscle strength, and acute and chronic pain.
OHM Fitness is a special first-to-market franchise opportunity for entrepreneurs and experienced franchise industry professionals who are eager to capture their share in the $96 billion dollar fitness industry. The initial franchise fee is $39,000 and the total estimated initial investment ranges from $107,150 to $328,000.
