Planet Fitness – one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand –celebrated the grand opening of its Gallery Place club (783 7th St NW, Suite H, Washington, DC 20001), Monday, Oct. 17.
Approximately 200 people gathered for the festivities, which included the following:
- Ribbon Cutting with the DC Chamber of Commerce
- $1,000 Check Presentation to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington
- Special Appearances by Washington Wizards Legends, Harvey Grant and Michael Adams, Wizards Mascot G-Wiz and WPGC 95.5
- Giveaways and Prizes including a 65” Smart TV, Amazon Echo Show, Apple watch, and Wizards game tickets and apparel, and specialty items
- Free Workouts and 30-Minute Express Class for all in attendance
“The grand opening celebration in Gallery Place was huge success for our members, staff and the community,” said C. Victor Brick, co-owner of PF Growth Partners (PFGP), a Planet Fitness franchise division. “Washington Wizards legends, Harvey Grant and Michael Adams, were a big hit and the crowd loved it when mascot, G-Wiz set off the lunk alarm.”

Occupying 19,817 square feet, Planet Fitness Gallery Place offers state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, 30-Minute Express Circuit, fully equipped locker rooms with lockers and showers, numerous flat screen televisions, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning beds and more – all in a hassle-free environment.
Operating hours are Monday to Thursday: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Memberships start at $10/month and include free fitness training, unlimited access to a home club and free WiFi.
The $24.99 PF Black Card® membership includes the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to all 2,300+ Planet Fitness locations in all 50 states, as well as access to massage beds, chairs and tanning, among other benefits, which vary by location and pending local restrictions.
Planet Fitness Gallery Place is the first of three DC area clubs that PFGP is bringing to the community. The franchise division currently owns and operates 21 clubs in the DMA, including Ivy City and Penn Branch in the nation’s capital. Overall, there are 48 Planet Fitness clubs throughout the area.
