Do you remember the famous television child artist of Comedy Circus, Gangubai? Yes, the cutest little girl who used to tickle our funnybones with her fantastic comic timing and one-liners on-stage. Gangubai, aka Saloni Daini, is 19-years-old today and has undergone a massive physical transformation and lost 22kgs amid lockdown.
The young artist has lost weight amid lockdown after she experienced body shaming. Saloni Daini talked about witnessing fat-shaming, rude comments, and losing a massive 22 kgs during the lockdown. In an interview with ETimes TV’s Telly Blazer section, she revealed her weight loss journey for the first time.
She said, When lockdown started, I would eat much of home-cooked food. My mom would cook momos, butter chicken, cakes, and things like that. One day I was sitting in front of my laptop, watching shows and suddenly, the screen locked and I saw my face on the laptop. I look very chubby at that time as I was 80kgs or something at that time. So at that point, I decided to lose weight for myself. I just wanted to lose weight to be fit and healthy and started following a healthy diet and exercising every day. Now I am 58 kgs, and I would like to thank lockdown because I couldn’t go out and eat junk food. Lockdown has made me lose weight.”
Saloni Daini started her acting career at a very young age as a stand-up comedian with the show Comedy Circus. She has been featured in several TV shows and movies as well.
