The second open gym inaugurated nearby to the JNI stadium on Kerala Piravi day received a warm welcome. Even after the project opened to the public, many people turned up to the gym. Though the health department intended to fix the free open gym in the first quarter of the year, it received postponed by several months. This is the second open gym to come up in Kochi, as the first one was set up with the fund allotted by Hibi Eden, MP, at Chathiyath Road. The people of Kochi are really excited about the open gym and they are really happy with the facilities of the new open gym.

Meanwhile, the health department has spent almost `4 lakh for the project, intends to establish a related facility at Attutheeram park near Piravom. “We have some other projects in the checklist as well, and within a year, the region will have almost five open gyms,” told a health officer.
