San Diego, California, USA; FISA, the only trade organization exclusively representing fitness industry suppliers, has appointed Sal Pellegrino as its new Executive Director. He replaces David Dinerman, who led the organization since its inception in 2000.

Mr. Pellegrino joins FISA with a 40-year career in the fitness industry. He most recently served as the Senior Manager of Strategic Accounts with Precor. His previous roles included owning and operating a chain of Nautilus fitness centers and serving as a key executive at leading global organizations, including Les Mills International, Stairmaster, and Core Health and Fitness.

Donna Lins, Vice President of Sales at Iron Grip and President of the FISA Board of Directors, had this to say, “the breadth of Sal’s experience as a club owner and Senior Sales Executive with several key equipment manufacturers, his extensive contacts at all levels and his ongoing involvement with FISA, makes him a great fit.“

Scott Sechrest, founder of AthliOS, who led the executive search shared his thoughts on the hire as follows: “Sal’s reputation precedes him. He is such a positive influence in every way. His ability and willingness to share and present information, whether one-on-one or as a featured speaker at trade events, and his ability to form alliances with other groups is valued in all corners of our business. We’re lucky to have him lead FISA into our next phase of growth.”

Mr. Pellegrino, who during the COVID lockdown created over forty fitness industry videos addressing the hardships of fitness facility operators and suppliers, which were watched by tens of thousands around the globe, shared his enthusiasm for his new role; “Call this chapter two of my career. This is a great opportunity to give back and serve the health & fitness industry while managing FISA’s appointment-based events and its annual research report on fitness equipment sales and trends. I’ll make it a priority to explore alliances with other organizations and extend FISA’s reach.”
