Global Sportswear Brand Under Armour which has recently  opened its first physical store in  India at New Delhi’s DLF Promenade Mall will be opening 10 stores in India in the first  year, said a top  executive of the country.

“We will be opening 10 stores in the first 12 months here and then will assess our performance going forward,” said Patrik Frisk, president and chief operating officer of Under Armour.

The company believes that it was the right time for them to enter the Indian market.

“Everyone asks us if we are late to enter this market. My answer is, this is the right time for us to enter India, where sports and fitness has started to pick, ” said Kevin Plank, founder and chief executive officer of Under Armour.

The sportswear brand already sells its products in India online through e-commerce platforms like Myntra and Amazon.
