Nike commercial called Dream Crazy featuring Colin Kaepernick gets nominated for Emmy award. The global sports brand dropped the video ad featuring the athlete-turned-activist last year in September.

The commercial has been the center of limelight ever since it was out. Nike made six billion dollars after its arrival. Apart from Colin, Serena Williams and LeBron James were also part of the ‘Dream Crazy’ campaign which transcended the arena of sports and ventured into social and political causes.

Nike’s decision of making Colin the face of Dream Crazy was a risky one. The former Super Bowl quarterback sparked animosity by kneeling during national anthem.

After dropping the commercial Nike’s popularity on Instagram shot up. Their share hit all-time high. Since then, Nike has released several other social and politically charged ads featuring an array of athletes from different backgrounds. Recently, their women’s world cup ad got a love, and an ad featuring Serena Williams shook the sports world earlier this year.
