According to a newly-conducted study by Brand Finance, Real Madrid is the most valuable club in the world right now. The current value of the club is estimated at 1.6 billion euro.

This is the first time in nine years the LaLiga giant topped the table. They seized the place from former number one Manchester United. Brand Finance considered factors like matchday revenue, broadcast revenue and commercial revenue while conducting the study. The club has witnessed a growth of 26.9 pc in 2019 which gave them edge among other clubs.

As for the other European clubs in the list, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Tottenham are in the top ten.

Real Madrid accumulated 70 million from Emirates, 110 million from Adidas and matchday revenue contributed to 160 million. Bryan Anderson, the Brand Finance director said, “Real Madrid has shown this year who truly reigns supreme in world of football. They triumph not only as the most valuable and strongest brand but their enterprise value and stadiums are also ranked second to none.”

The premium league also saw a 6.9 percent increase in brand value, ensuring it sat atop the ranking for yet another year. LaLiga overtook the German Bundesliga after a 23.3 per cent growth but still sat nearly 5 billion behind the premier league in value.

Spanish league club, Sevilla also registered a growth of 49.1, the highest single increase any club year-on-year.
