Amid such hustle, the Sri Lanka Cricket is coming up with an Eco-Friendly drive by getting their official match jerseys designed out of recycled ocean plastic waste for the upcoming World Cup. At the time when Sri Lankan cricket team is not performing not so well on the ground, the team management has surprised cricket experts with the announcement of their World cup squad.

MAS Holdings, the Official Clothing Sponsor of Sri Lanka Cricket have recycled plastic sea waste procured from the Sri Lankan coast with the assistance of Sri Lankan Navy to produce Team jerseys in a benevolent drive for environmental conservation.

The Chief Operating Officer of MAS Holdings, Said ” Through the Ocean Plastics products launched for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, we are delighted to have brought innovation and sustainability together, to establish a new global benchmark for performance wear,”.

Besides, Sri Lanka Cricket has also announced their partnership with an Indian water purifier company i.e. Kent RO Systems for the further cricketing industry. It should be noted that Sri Lanka has won 1996 world cup by beating Australia in a chasing second inning match  however, since last few months the team is not looking in form .

Sri Lanka Cricket including the winning world cup series has played World cup finals for the three times.

In the upcoming World Cup Series, Sri Lanka will face new Zealand on their first game day.
